Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Scope

This privacy policy describes how Random Mini Apps (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with:

Some other apps published under Random Mini Apps may have additional or different notices (for example dedicated app privacy pages linked from those apps). Where a separate notice exists for another app, that notice applies to that app.

This policy does not claim that no information is ever processed by third parties. Lighting Check includes optional Google advertising, and third-party providers process information as described below.

Lighting Check

Lighting Check is an iPhone and iPad app that estimates ambient light levels using the device camera, compares readings with practical guidance, and helps you save audits, notes, photos, and exportable reports on your device.

Lighting Check does not operate a developer-owned user account system, analytics server, or cloud database for your lighting audits. Core measurement and documentation features are designed to work with data stored on your device.

The sections that follow explain local data, camera and photos, sharing, Google Mobile Ads, advertising consent, StoreKit purchases, and related choices for Lighting Check.

Information stored locally

On your device, Lighting Check may store information you create or configure while using the app, including:

This information remains on your device unless you deliberately export or share it, or unless you delete the app or clear the relevant data through iOS controls.

Camera and photos

Lighting Check uses the camera to estimate ambient light levels. Camera frames used for measurement are processed on-device and are not uploaded by Lighting Check to a developer-operated server.

Audit photos are stored only when you deliberately add them. Those photos remain in the app’s local storage on your device unless you choose to include them in a report you export or share.

Reports and user-initiated sharing

Reports and related files leave your device only when you deliberately use features such as Preview, Share, AirDrop, Files, Mail, Messages, or another destination provided by iOS.

When you share, the destination you choose (and that destination’s privacy practices) governs what happens next. Lighting Check does not automatically upload your audits, notes, photos, or reports to a Random Mini Apps cloud service.

Apple StoreKit purchases

Lighting Check offers Full Access as a non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit.

Payment credentials are not provided to or stored by the Lighting Check developer. Apple may process purchase and device information under Apple’s own privacy policy.

Website and hosting

This website is hosted through GitHub Pages. Hosting providers may process ordinary technical request information such as IP addresses, timestamps, and browser or device information needed to deliver the site.

This privacy policy page uses system fonts only and does not load Google Fonts. Other pages on this site (for example the home page) currently load Google Fonts from Google’s servers when you visit them. Those font requests may allow Google to receive your IP address and related technical information.

Based on the current static HTML implementation, the site itself does not set any developer-controlled cookies. Third-party services used by some pages (such as Google Fonts on those pages) may set or read their own cookies or similar technologies under their policies.

Data retention

Local Lighting Check data remains on your device until you delete it within the app (where available), remove associated content, or delete the app. Temporary export files created for Preview or Share are intended for short-lived use on your device.

Information processed by Google, Apple, or GitHub is retained according to those providers’ policies and your account or device settings with them.

User choices and controls

Children

Lighting Check is intended for general audiences who need practical light estimates and documentation tools. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided information in a way that concerns you, contact us using the email below.

Third-party services

Lighting Check and this website may involve the following third parties. Linking to their policies does not transfer legal responsibility away from Random Mini Apps for the practices we describe here; it helps you understand how those providers handle information.

Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because Lighting Check’s audit and measurement data are stored on your device, many requests are best handled by using in-app and iOS controls.

For advertising or purchase data held by Google or Apple, you may also need to use those companies’ tools and account settings. Contact us if you need help understanding which controls apply.

Policy changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Lighting Check or this website after an update means you should review the revised policy.
