ScamLens UK — Privacy Policy

Effective: July 2026 · Contact: support@randomminiapps.com

ScamLens UK is built so that checking a suspicious message never turns your private messages into someone's data. The honest summary: we do not collect any data. At all.

What happens when you check something

Everything ScamLens does — reading a pasted message, scanning a QR code, reading a screenshot, and generating the explanation — happens on your iPhone. The messages, links, images and results are never uploaded, transmitted, logged or shared with us or anyone else. The on-device intelligence that writes plain-English explanations is Apple's Foundation Models framework, which also runs entirely on your device.

What we store (on your device only)

Your check history is stored only on your iPhone. By default only a short preview of each checked item is kept; you can choose to keep full text in Settings, and you can delete everything at any time with one tap. If you delete the app, this data is gone. We have no copy — we never did.

The complete list of network connections

  1. Scam-pattern updates. The app periodically downloads a small set of content files (scam patterns, official domain lists, reporting routes) from our static website. This is a plain file download: it contains no account, no identifier, and nothing about you or your checks. It uses an ephemeral connection with no cookies.
  2. Links you explicitly open. If you choose "Open anyway" on a result, or tap a reporting link (such as reportfraud.police.uk), your device connects to that website in the usual way. ScamLens never opens any link by itself.

There are no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, no third-party SDKs of any kind, and no account system.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal information about you from a purchase. Apple's privacy policy governs the transaction.

App Store privacy label

Data Not Collected. Keeping this true is a design constraint of the app, not a marketing line: features that would require collecting data are rejected at design time.

Children

ScamLens is an educational safety tool suitable for general audiences. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future feature ever changed any of the above, we would update this policy, the App Store privacy label, and explain the change in the app before it took effect.
