Effective: 1 October 2026
ScamLens is an educational safety tool. It looks for known warning signs in links, QR codes, messages and screenshots — impersonation of familiar organisations, look-alike addresses, hidden destinations, pressure tactics and wording used in common UK scams — and explains what it finds in plain English.
ScamLens cannot guarantee that any link, QR code, message or website is safe, and cannot detect every scam. A "Low risk" result means no obvious warning signs were found; it is not a promise of safety. Results are risk assessments to inform your own judgement, not professional, legal or financial advice. You remain responsible for your decisions, including any link you choose to open and any information you choose to share.
HMRC, Royal Mail, Evri, DVLA, NHS, bank names and other organisations mentioned in the app are referenced for identification and education only (nominative use). ScamLens is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of them.
ScamLens is completely free. There are no ads, subscriptions, lifetime unlocks, or in-app purchases. Checks are unlimited. Every feature — including screenshots, history, search, and Helper mode — is available without payment. Sharing a result sends a text summary only. ScamLens does not create or export PDFs. Optional App Store ratings and voluntary external support links (when enabled by the developer) never unlock features.
Reporting shortcuts (7726, report@phishing.gov.uk, 159, Report Fraud, Police Scotland) connect you to third-party services we do not operate. Their availability and behaviour may change; we update them with content updates but cannot guarantee them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScamLens is provided "as is" and we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on its results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, or affects your statutory rights.
