ScamLens UK is built so that checking a suspicious message never turns your private messages into someone's data. The honest summary: we do not collect any data. At all.
Everything ScamLens does — reading a pasted message, scanning a QR code, reading a screenshot, and generating the explanation — happens on your iPhone. The messages, links, images and results are never uploaded, transmitted, logged or shared with us or anyone else. The on-device intelligence that writes plain-English explanations is Apple's Foundation Models framework, which also runs entirely on your device.
Your check history is stored only on your iPhone, in an App Group shared by the app, the Share Extension, and widgets. Widgets do not show your personal history. By default only a short preview of each checked item is kept, plus the verdict and the explanations available at the time. You can choose to keep full text in Settings. You can delete everything at any time. If you delete the app, this data is gone. We have no copy.
If you share a result, you start that share. The text is the summary on screen. It does not include message text you did not choose to keep.
There are no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, no third-party SDKs of any kind, and no account system.
ScamLens UK does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you choose to leave an App Store review or visit an optional external support page the developer may link to later, that happens outside the app’s checking features and does not unlock functionality. We do not receive payment details.
Data Not Collected. Keeping this true is a design constraint of the app, not a marketing line: features that would require collecting data are rejected at design time.
ScamLens is an educational safety tool suitable for general audiences. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If a future feature ever changed any of the above, we would update this policy, the App Store privacy label, and explain the change in the app before it took effect.
